Can anyone reccommend a good baby carrier?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a baby carrier for Kathryn who is 4 months old. We're going on holiday to Lake District soon and want a carrier so that we can go walking - not massive long hikes just a few miles. Has anyone got a carrier they'd reccommend?

Personally I love the Baby Bjorn. If your little girl can support her head well then she can also forward face which is lovely so she can see where you are going and you can chat as you walk, then when it is time for sleep you can turn her the other way so she can snuggle into you and nap.

We have a Bjorn too but now Poppy is getting heavier, I find it difficult to walk more than a mile or so with her in it. My brother had a back pack type carrier with a metal frame for his kids, which was really good. You could tie one of the supports around your waist so that took a lot of the weight. Depends how much your LO weighs and how much Weetabix you have eaten though I suppose!
