can i ask how many scans u have had?

im concerned after reading conflicting info on here about ultrasound scans not being safe, or us needing to minimise the amount we have

my friend had 12 through her pregnancy and baby was fine. ive had 3 so far and need to have 1 more and am considering an additional 4d one. but now not sure if i should

im really just lookin for some reassurance- if any1 here has had extra scans done either with this pregnancy or previous and if all was/ still seems ok?

I have only had 2 so far - at 12 and 20wks, but I am booked in for a growth scan at 32wks and if my gtt comes back positive for diabetes then I will probably have to go for a couple more too.

I have heard people say there is info around that ultrasounds aren't safe but I personally am not worried. My friend had problems with her second pregnancy and had scans every 4wks until baby seemed to stop growing properly then she had them every 2wks - her little boy is just perfect.

You should decide what you think is best for you hun and if you feel there is a risk whether it is worth taking.

I have one at almost every dr. visit..... I doubt they would do them if they werent safe! You should be fine!

Hi this is my 3rd pregnancy my 1st pregnancy I had 3 scans and my 2nd pregnancy I had about 7 scans and with this pregnancy ive had 4 already and due another 2 scans , my 2 children who are 12 and 6 are perfectly healthy in every way I have no fears at all about having scans done which is prob just as well with the amount ive had to get

I am fairly certain that they are safe otherwise they wouldn't be used so frequently. I have had 6 so far and I am still having 2 more x

I've had 4 so far and one more to go at 36 weeks! I'm sure they are fine. I might be concerned if I was having them every day, but 5 over 9 months is not too bad. I had my first at 5+6, second 7+5, third 10+4, fourth 20+3. Baby healthy so far!

I've had 6 - 2 with my fertility clinic, 1 dating scan, 2 at EPU after spotting, 1 with my consultant. I can't imagine they would do them if there was a risk.

my sister had 1 every couple weeks as she is diabetic and needed to keep track on the babys growth, she did have quite a few about 15 i think lol and my neice is perfect ive had 4 so far but got another at 32 weeks then maybe another at 38 weeks not sure about that yet see how the 32 weeks goes x

Here we have one every appointment - and its done for everyone who has a gynae in the whole of my country. Last pregnancy I had a total of 9 scans during the pregnancy and DD is fine. This time I have had 2 gynae scans and have scanned myself twice also (very short scans) I will have another 6 this pregnancy and possibly 3 extra depending on whether they decide I need late growth scans which would make a total of 13 this pregnancy. (I am also diabetic)

The gynaes in this country who fall pregnant generally scan themselves once a week throught the pregnancy and none of them have had trouble with it and their kids are fine.

Hiya, I have had one every 2 weeks since 7 weeks pregnant and will continue to have them every 2 weeks till 30 weeks , then it will be weekly.
I also have a 4d booked for 18th Oct....this is purely for us to enjoy. All my other scans have been because of medical issues so we wanted one that we could enjoy and relax about

Seriously hunni, do not be jealous... I am so sick of going in and out of hospital I would give anything for a normal hassle free pregnancy All the scans so far have been so 'medical' so much so that is why we are going for a private 4d scan so we can enjoy a bit of time with baby

I have had one scan at 12 weeks and will have another at 20 weeks - standard NHS scanning or me. We aren't having a 4D as we want to remain team yellow and don't want to gove baby too many opportunity to flash his/her bits at us!
