i am having tomorrow at 11 am the HSG test done but i am right on my ovulation window as well ...we Bd last night ...i won't probably tomorrow tomorrow evening as i will be maybe a little crampy but what about tonight ?

I was told not to try at all before HSG. xx

Just to add. The information I received from the hospital actually said they wouldn't carry out the procedure if they patient had had unprotected sex between AF and HSG.

So I would check if they are still happy to do it if you did bd last night. I'm not sure what the reasons are behind not doing it if there is a risk of pregnancy. Not sure if any of the other girls here know??

Sorry to be negative - it might be that its absolutely fine, but thought I'd just mention it anyway.

they never told me anything ...we did BD last night as i did have a positive opk and fertile CM ...grrrrrr...i hates all this complication...i email my obgyn and see what she said...

I was told no too, they wont do the HSG if there is a chance you might be pregnant.

They told me not to a week before HSG as any chance could be pregnant as the dye can do damage to baby etc..

but if i am just ovulating i am not really pregnant yet...as it take about 7 to 10 days for the egg to implant etc...

I had to sign a disclaimer at my hospital stating I would refrain from :sex: and that they would not be held liable if they flushed out a newly fertilised embryo. I was glad to take a month off to be honest with you. Good luck anyway hun.

xx

You might find that if you have ovulated, the egg and spermies will be flushed out of your fallopian tubes and into your abdominal cavity anyway. When I had mine done it was CD8. I'd had two high readings on my CBFM and was expecting a peak a day or two later - that peak never came as I just got high readings until the monitor stopped asking for sticks - I think it interrupted my cycle anyway.

xx

i am pretty sure i did not ovulated yet...i just got my positive OPK last night and no high temp this morning ...i do ovulate usually around CD14 and i am cd12 today...

i just want to make sure i can still do my test :)...

Hey Miel

I have been told no sex at all between CD1 and the HSG - the dye will flush your tubes out and can cause an infection which is why you get antibiotics etc. Any 'debris' that is loose in your tubes will get flushed out so if there is an eggy in your tubes when you have the HSG done it won't be viable. Speak to your doctor and she may re-schedule it - they won't do the test if there is the slightest chance you could be pregnant :hugs:

When I had mine done, hospital said not to bd at all as if preg then it could be flushed into tubes and could get ectopic preg thats what they are covering themselves over. What happened with me is that I was booked for my HSG and on the day I went along called my name out, went into little room, got gowned up, nurse came in and asked me if we had had intercourse b4 this proceedure-well said yes but with condom cos I thought that this would be ok and hubby said it was ok. How silly was I to be believe this. I did not read the sheet properly that the hospital had given me and the nurse said she needed to speak to the doctor who was doing proceedure. So off she went then came back into the room and said that I couldn't have it done. Well I was distraught as I had just started a new job and it was so hard to take the time off and to coordinate with everything like no af etc. I was sobbing like a baby to the doctor, they jsut said that they would have to reshedule it, so had it at a later date.

Sorry to say this to you, I mean maybe your hospital does things differently but just thought would tell you what happened with me. Good luck anyway! Maybe check with them!
