We all know almost all the basic things but I thought I would make a thread about food we may or may not eat.... =) here are my two lol

Prawns (prawns on toast)
Mozzarella (once cooked)

I'm still eating prawns. As far as I'm concerned if they're properly cooked then they're ok. I would just be wary of getting anything with prawns in it from a takeaway or something like that
Mozzarella - no idea : /

Don't eat mould-ripened soft cheese, such as brie, camembert and chevre (a type of goats' cheese) and others with a similar rind. You should also avoid soft blue-veined cheeses such as Danish blue or gorgonzola. These are made with mould and they can contain listeria, a type of bacteria that can harm your unborn baby. Although infection with listeria (listeriosis) is rare, it is important to take special precautions in pregnancy because even a mild form of the illness in a pregnant woman can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth or severe illness in a newborn baby.

You can eat hard cheeses such as cheddar, parmesan and stilton, even if they're made with unpasteurised milk. Hard cheeses don't contain as much water as soft cheeses so bacteria are less likely to grow in them. Many other types of cheese are OK to eat, but make sure they're made from pasteurised milk. This includes cottage cheese, mozzarella, feta, cream cheese, paneer, ricotta, halloumi, goats' cheese and processed cheeses such as cheese spreads.

Copied and pasted from NHS choices xx

On the nhs website it says no to shellfish, excluding prawns, I think it means shellfish which you eat raw, which is obviously high risk.
I'm eating prawns I've cooked myself. I think stuff like prawn toast is fine as it probably will have been previously frozen, and cooked prawns too.

With prawns its fine too eat them so long as they are fresh and cooked properly

Green Tea - it's been shown to significantly decrease the absorption and assimilation of folic acid.

Hibiscus Tea - estrogen-like effect. Was used as an early form of birth control.

(Thank goodness I remembered reading these in school or else I'd have continued drinking the insane amount of Green Tea that I usually do lol)

I didn't know green tea was a no-no, I love green tea :(

Not meant to eat mcflurries as its soft ice cream... Strange I know :(

Soft ice cream is a no no because they may not clean the machines properly and bacteria can grow. :S

This is a sticky thread already in Pregnancy Club :flower:.
I think a lot of food lists come down to where you live. Where I live, other than unpasteurized things, everything is basically considered fine as long as you use common sense (not eating raw meat or eggs).
