hey girls, im full of a cold and wondered wether i can use vicks vapor rub? i just dont want to take anything at the moment as im not sure whats safe and unsafe! i really do need to take something for this cold, im really suffering!!!

Yes its completely safe to use. Its one of the things my doctor reccomended for use when I had a cold a couple of months ago. I'd usually use sudafed, ibobrufen, paracetamol and pro plus in some sort of 'cold coctail' but thats not possible in pregnancy so I had to make do with my lovely vapour rub! hehe

The whole house smelt of it when I was done! The only thing I would say is don't get it in your eye- it feels so weird and cold! x

not sure but i had a nasty cold and used one of those vapour sticks you shove up your nose like an inhaler and paracetomol. drink plenty of water and i hope u feel better soon

Yes. Don't put it on/in/around your nose, though. If you have already, don't freak out; it's just not the best place to put it, according to my doctor.

oh i used one of those inaler sticks up my nose :/ i wonder why u cant?

The inhaler sticks are fine to use up your nose- thats what they were intended for. Its the gel that comes in a pot that is not meant to go on your nose (or so it says on the instructions). x

I use it for my backache... You should be fine....

Vicks is safe to use. Doctor called and told me to take tyenol, robitussin (chest congestion only) or sudafed. I took robitussin and tyenol and it helps a little. Didn't take sudafed as mine wasn't that severe at that time.
