What exactly is Cous Cous? Watching Jamie Oliver and he uses it a lot but iv never tried it

Is it like a rice? Looks nice but no idea what it tastes like

:flower:

Yeah it's a bit like rice, it's smaller though and does taste different, it's nice though, try it. You can get loved pre flavoured ones in salad bowls. Yum yum

Is it healthier than say...rice or pasta? Could be good if its lots less calorie wise :)

I believe so, but really I have no clue lol, I know a few people who are Heath freaks who eat it.

A little bit of info on couscous.
I love the stuff!!

I adore couscous and so easy to make, not a faff like rice and you can get all different flavours.

Cous cous cooked in chicken stock is probably the easiest meal you'll ever make.

It's lovely, nothing like rice though. Much softer, easier to cook and much more versatile.

Its really yummy and much easier and quicker than rice. I usually pour vegetable stock over it and eat it with falafel, salad and lots of tzatziki. I doubt it is really much healthier than rice or pasta though, they are all just carbs! It makes a nice change though. It doesn't really taste anything like rice. Its very fluffy and not chewy at all.

Couscous is lovely, you should definitely try it, it goes really well with salads.

It is like a smaller version of rice with a different texture. I think it's the same calories though, I'm sure I checked on a pack once. Usually around 360 calories per 100 g
