My garden is an odd one.
We bought this house nearly 2 years ago and it had been empty for over a year at that point, so the garden was awful - Nettles and brambles as high as my waist!
At the same time that we bought the house, a plot of derelict land also went up for sale directly behind the house/garden/garage. We managed to buy it with the dream of landscaping it.
We decided to turf over the end of the garden to create more playing space. As we were levelling the old weed bed, we decided to remove what we thought was an old gate post. It wasn't a gate post - it was a hole.
This is what we discovered!!
The well was safely covered over and the area turfed. We will soon get the water and depth tested and use it for garden irrigation (should save a few pennies and won't be subjected to hose pipe bans!!)
As it straddles next doors garden, we have spoken to them about it and we have all decided to create a feature of the well, by building it up and restoring it!
The large piece of land is still derelict at present, but we have a week in september put by where we have hired a digger. The inlaws are coming down to assist in the digging up of roots and levelling of the area, ready to get turf and plants in.
Currently, we are removing the old brick pond at the end of the small garden that I was using as a vege patch. It has a large concrete base - a perfect place for a playhouse which should arrive in the next week or two!!
I have a lot of garden.

Is the house all yours Dragonfly? Or do you live in a part of it?
If so, is the garden a shared space? Thats a lot of work for you if it isn't!!
Lovely though
Dragonfly your garden is a beaut! I'd love a garden like that (except when it comes to mowing the lawn lol). How much of the house do you live in? I can't imagine the hoovering you must do!
