Hi guys,
This is my first month charting and full on ttc. Fertility friend estimated my ovulation date to be on cd 19 so i bd'd on cd 15 17 18 and 19. I got a positive opk on cd 17, so I thought fertility friend had it right and I would O on cd 18 or 19. Then this morning, due to my temp changes (a very slight dip on cd 17 and a rise on cd 21) , ff changed my O to cd 17. Is it possible to O on the same day you get a positive opk? I always poas around the same time in the early afternoon. On the 17th, the positive opk was around 4 pm. I thought that would surely push my O date to the 18th. Hopefully I didn't miss the egg!

It's possible, I sometimes ovulate on the same day as my first OPK. Sounds like you bd'd on and before ovulation day though, so that's good :) Good luck!

I think it's possible yeah xx

Good luck getting your BFP :-) xxx

Thank you both for your input!! Good luck!!

Yes - many ladies get positive OPKs for a while after the first one.

Definitely. A positive OPK Shows that ovulation is about to happen; it can be anytime from 12-36hrs after the OPK. If you catch the tail end of the positive, meaning its about to turn negative again, then it could well happen that same day. Remember that you might get a few days of positives though, so best to BD all through, just in case, and up to two days after the last positive you had.

Thanks so much for all of your answers!! fertility friend changed my ovulation date again, this time made it a few days later. frustrating but looking at my chart and when we dtd, later works better for my odds!

I'm not sure why your chart is green  but the current ovulation date set by FF seems the most likely, but it could be wrong still.

Due to cramping, skin outbreak, OPKs and EWCM last cycle, I knew the exact day I ovulated, but FF chose to put it elsewhere, so I did a manual override. FF isn't always right; it only goes by what it knows and the information you give it. I never got an immediate temp shift, so I suppose that's what created the confusion.

This month, I thought I would have ovulated yesterday, but my temp didn't dipped a little this morning, so perhaps it was today after all. This month I'm waiting for FF to tell me because I didn't get the cramps/skin outbreak this time.
