On the website they just advise you not to heat formula in the MW because of uneven heat distribution, but if I shake the bottle before testing on my skin, I'll know if it's too hot.

Also, half the time I will want to heat water in the MW using one of the bottles, so what I really want to know is, is it safe? I threw away all the packaging weeks ago :dohh:

I dont know if its recommended but I do it. I usually warm the water up for about 10 seconds in the microwave then add the formula powder. Just enough to have it slightly warmed.

Thanks :) The last thing I want is it blowing up on me. I wouldn't heat it enough for it to melt, but I don't want to be dealing with combustion as well as a hungry baby :winkwink:

I've only been needing to do it the past couple of days, because Chloe's lost her appetite, so have been keeping leftover in the fridge (we dispense it into a fresh bottle each time). But until I know for sure I've been pouring the formula into a mug, sticking the mug in the MW and then putting it back into the bottle. It's a roundabout way of doing it, which is why putting the bottle in would be easier, but hey ho!

I don't know about avent specifically, but on the TT instructions they recommend taking the top section (teat, lid etc) off, so it's just the main body of the bottle in the microwave.

i often use the micro as i have a few nuby soft bottles and they take forever to heat up in a jug of water, must be the silicone as i have never had problems warming bottles this way before

just make sure it gets a really good shake to prevent hot spots x
