Can You Request to be Induced?

i am due 11th may, he is back (all being well) 9th may, has 10 days off - which isnt long really.

i am going to see what they say, i just hope that she is bang on her due date, unlikely tho!!!

is difficult when you have a bf/husband in the forces and they get sent away to afghan - of all places.

just wish he didnt have to go

I have been following this thread today and just wanted to wish you good luck in whatever happens, weather baby makes her appearance off her own accord and get to see her daddy or weather they induce you. I cant imagine having my DH being away never mind not being here for the birth of our son, so my heart goes out to you. Lets us know what your MW says xx

thankyou for that! i am thinking i will prob end up just waiting and seeing whn she arrives naturally.
but if i do have to have a c-section because placenta hasnt moved then will have a date booked for it.
wish i could look into the future briefly to see what day she is going to arrive on! then make sure he is back for then!!

Just got home with my update as requested!

My MW stripped my membranes and then said that she will have me come back on Monday (if I am still pregnant) to check and see if it helped at all and to do it again if need be (hope we won't have to!). Otherwise my induction is on Wednesday at 8:00am as she wanted to be on call when I came in

Breezy's update is positive for you especially if she is from the UK because i believe in the US they are more casual about giving inductions so thats why i have asked of breezy is from the UK. xx

Hi hun,

my friend had same situation when she was due- her oh was due on a tour of duty just after her due date- in the end they agreed to induce her when she was a week over- so a bit earlier than usual. It's worth asking the question & the doctors / midwives will assess each case individually.

its reassuring knowing ppl have been in the same sort of situation, i guess it does happen.

gives me a bit of hope that i will be allowed.

will defo ask and see what they say, if i dont ask will never know!
