hi ladies! my LO is just about 5 months old..... he STTN from 6 weeks but at 4 months started having night wakings..... i read the no cry sleep solution which helped hugely but he's still not great....
.... he has aptamil first milk but last night i gave him aptamil hungry milk... he slept a lot sounder and slept through til 5.30 am. - not bad by his recent standards! i'd like to feed him aptamil first milk all day and just hungry milk for his last feed. is this ok does anyone know or should it be one or the other??

ps he's not waking for a feed any more or draining his bottles so i dont want to wean just yet....

thanks guys xx

I give my LO the aptamil first infant milk through the day and the anti-reflux/stay down milk at night. She is a very sicky baby and during the day I can sit her up during and after feeds but at night when I lie her down in bed I dont want her to vomit while I am asleep.

I cant give her the anti-reflux stuff all day long because (sorry tmi) she gets constipated and I have not had any problems using both milks.

My HV says this is ok but she told me not to use the hungry baby milk before 6 months not sure of the reason? Although I used it with my son before 6 months.

Yep! That's exactly what I used to do before I moved LO on to the follow on milk

I've heard this too but it seemed to go down well with LO last night (who's always been v hungry in the evenings) so think I will go ahead as its working xxx

Fab! and when the time is right is it okay to make baby rice with the hungry baby milk? or should I make that with the Aptamil first milk? Or doesn't it matter what milk?? LOL! xx

We've just started formula feeding full time & we use first milk for day & hungry for night. It seems to work quite well for Lucie xx

Could I do this with a 4 week old? During day she will want feeding every 3/4 hours but at night she wants every 2 hours :/

Personally I wouldnt with a baby so young, and who doesnt appear to be overfeeding. Feeding every 2-4 hours is very normal for a 4 week old, so even though its tiring I would stick with the first milk. Hungry baby milk only makes them go longer between feeds as it is harder on their digestive systems and takes longer to digest. It can cause tummy upsets and constipation in younger babies as even though it says "from birth" its really ment for older babies, closer to weaning age to satisfy their larger appetites and delay weaning til 6 months. xxx
