Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Have been prescribed it by the doctor... just picked it up today so hope it works.. Infant Gavs was a nightmare for us and didn't work.. We switched to comfort milk at 8 weeks and this seemed to ease my LOs reflux slightly...

I am a bit confused tho my LO is 20weeks old and has 20oz of milk a day.. not much I know in comparison to other babes of her age, she had a good birth weight 7lb 4oz at 38 weeks... And was on the 50th percentile but has dropped to the 25th now.. but yet thats no big issue at the moment.

She has had silent relux well it seems like since for ever! But she just doesn't want to drink any milk.. not sure how the carobel will work or anything that will work that needs to be put in her milk if I can't get her to drink it??

I just dont know what to do??? I can't force her to drink milk if she doesn't want to and she just clamps her mouth shut and screams... But its verging on hunger strike atm! She is sttn and has been since 11 weeks but even her first bottle of the day she will only ever have 2-3oz and that is a massive struggle to get it into her... I would have expected her to drain her first feed of the day considering she is going 7-8 hours on a night time but nope she isn't bothered with drinking milk at all.. she will happily take a drink of water every day...

AHHhh just a bit of a wishy washy rambley moan... I know its early but looking forward to weaning her.. hope its not going to be the ongoing battle it is to get her to drink milk!

Do you think that DH and SIL having quite severe allergies and intorlernaces as babies could have an affect on her?? Both had to be switched to soya milk and have celeaic disease???? HV seems to think she fine as she would have constant runny nappies.. but the comfort milk makes her nappies quite liquidy anyways.... ooh what a to doo :baby:

I haven't tried carobel, sorry. Just wanted to ask if you've seen your doctor re silent reflux? I've been dealing with HV and doctors for my DS, who's only 5 weeks, and got Ranitidine prescribed which really helps his reflux. Babies won't necessarily display every symptom so I'd ignore the runny nappy suggestion from your HV. Perhaps ask what they are willing to do to help you and your LO?

Thanks Clare.. have seen Doc and HV about this its been ongoing since she was about 4 weeks old... she does have some okay / good days but the majority are screaming shouting hysterical days! Very draining..

Saw a different doc on Mon who said Ranitidine would be the next thing to try if the clarobel didn't work... just seems like a lot of skirting around and to give the clarobel 2 weeks to see if it works...

How do you give your LO Ranitidine? Does it go in the milk?? As I have a problem getting her to drink milk so don't understand why they give me something to put in her milk... ahh tomorrow will be a better day I hope! :O)

I tried carobel with my LO and it did work but tastes disgusting in the milk. That might be why your LO isnt drinking it. I then swapped to SMA Staydown and LO loved it. Its worked brilliant so problem solved. Maybe give it a try?

xx

We have changed to Aptamil anti reflux milk the other day.. LO seems to be drinking this finally! Feel dubious about changing brands of milk soo will see if this helps :O) x
