Hi, Just though i'd nip in here to see if anyone can help me on this..
So I've been working at the same place for over a year now, started out as 16hrs per week but now do 28 minimum, i thought i was contracted for the 16hrs but turns out its a casual 'zero hr' contract. I'm 11weeks pregnant at the moment and i'm wondering where this leaves me with maternity pay? I get holiday pay but i'm not confident i will be entitled to anything to do with the pregnancy.
Thanks

Smp is based on how much you earn not contract hours, as long as you meet the lower earnings limit (£107 a week I think it is?) you should be entitled to smp. Check out this link, should be of some help:

You can also check your eligibility through that link too:flower:

Thanks hun, from what i gather i am classed as an employee so on paper im entitled but i bet they wriggle out of it!

If they try to do that then just go to citizens advice, take payslips etc. I'm sure they'd have something to say about it. Your work would get most if not all the smp paid to you reimbursed anyway as its technically a government benefit so I don't see why they'd do that. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I have my scan next week so if all well then will ask them about it then :) thank you, good luck to you too x
