I have read so many mixed things about getting toxoplasmosis from cats. This last week I have had icky belly and my 2 cats are ill with diarrhoea and vomit. I have constant butterflies and am sick with worry that it could be toxoplasmosis. Or something else? Or just a stupid coincidence?? Is anyone familiar with this sort of thing?

I just looked up on nhs website and those are not symptoms https://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Toxoplasmosis/Pages/Symptoms.aspx. It is a low risk, with my 2 cats I just get hubbie to do litter trey but even then its low chance as my cats are indoor, and if you use gloves and/ wash hands then I wouldn't worry to much. I would say more coincidence or have you eaten something and then fed cats something which may have upset both your stomachs

I've been ill with everyone in my family and the cat has been sick too. With a stomach bug and she had it too so dunno if norovirus type bug can be passed on to cats x

My son has recently been ill with a campylobacter bacteria.

https://www.patient.co.uk/health/campylobacter .

I cleaned up one lot of dioreah from the cat but otherwise, both cats seemed ok. but they could have been the carrier. See if any symptoms correlate. My partner and I were okay. Antibiotics sorted my son out and reading around, generally people pass it through anyway often without treatment x

I am not sure if you are aware, but you can actually transmit the flu to your cat, so you have probably just picked up the flu (very common while pregnant due to lowered immune system) and passed that virus on to your cats who are suffering the symptoms, try to keep them well hydrated and yourself as well and you all will get over it in due time!! GL!
