Cbfm help

I am using cbfm old monitor, but have accidently brought the new advanced sticks, can i use these in my old monitor, has anyone tried?? I am due to test tomorrow and due to weekend etc and me buying them online i wont be able to get some more here until end of next week, so i will miss over a week of testing if i put this new stick in my monitor will it work

Ive read on ebay that you can use the purple sticks on old monitor and new but only purple sticks NOT WHITE on new monitor as the new monitor is only programmed to recognise the colour PURPLE...
