Oh the joys of a short luteal phase. I really am going to have to make the consultant listen. No amount of waiting or "relaxing" is going to change this luteal phase i need DRUGS!!!!tried B6- didn't work, tried Agnus Castus- seemed to work last month but not this one unless my cycle is longer not holding my breathe though. Just feeling fed up with this short luteal phase as i know every month theres now chance of the egg surviving even if it is fertilised!! I just don't think that the pill does thi, for this long, has anyone else experienced this? what fixed it? :hissy::hissy:

Just wanted to give you a big :hugs: I hope your Dr listens and gives you some more hope, help and above all, drugs!!!

What did the doctor actually say when you mentioned short luteal phase?

Hi, sorry for my ignorance but how can we tell if if we have short luteal phase?

Oh Loops, not much I can say sweets. Hopefully, they will listen to you now.

Oh hon I hope you doctor has a plan of action. I've read that LPD can be fixed so there is hope!

MY GP said it was too short and needed to be at least 7 days for an egg to be fertilised which is why she referred me "early" but the Consultant dismissed it really saying the pill was a supresant and things will sort themselves out given time. Told me to stop temping, using my cbfm and relax!! obviously done none of them as i know my luteal phase is too short but he wouldn't listen. I can tell im gonna have to get stroppy!!:hissy:

Time betwen ovulation and AF. should be at least 10 days for an egg to implant but mine barely musters 7 and thats on a good month :hissy:

Yeah i think it can be fixed , its just getting a consultant that will listen i imagine. I am grateful that i do ovulate at least as i know so many of you lovely ladies on here don't ovulate but i think im just frustrated this month. Any way fingers crossed for this month, we've got in plenty of bd'ing around the right time so i can always hope x

Hi,
I have a similar problem i think. I came off the pill last november and 9 months later have had no luck conceiving. I have used OPKs and Persona and they all say I ovulate about cd 19/ 20 but I only have a 28/ 29 day cycle. (luteal phase normally about 9 days) I am currently on CD 27 and have already had cramps and a bit of spotting. I went to the doctor and she said to chuck away the OPKs etc and just relax. But how can you relax when you are convinced there is something wrong? I too have been taking agnus castus for 3 months and it hasn't doen anything. i am now going to try vit b6, cut out alcohol completely and see if that does any good. I feel disheartened because I noe feel I can't go back to the drs.

thats similiar to my consultant, my GP seemed to understand a bit more. I used B6 for one cycle but changed them from between 31-34 days to 47 so i stopped taking them, no change to my luteal phase though. How long were you on the pill?

I have been on and off the pill since I was 17 so 21 years. I had a daughter two years ago. I conceived her almost straight away after coming off the pill so not convinced this can be a problem especially as this time I have been off it for 9 months. Maybe it is my age? But I want to give everything I can a go and it is frutrating when the dr looks at you as if you are mad!!!

my consultant blamed all my ttc prblems with me being on the pill for 11 years non stop and sad id gone on it before my reproductive system was mature enough (i was 16!!) he said it will take time to regulate and should be in next 6 months my cycles seem to be quite regular now but my luteal phase too short.

I have even read that 10 days is too short, and 12 is better. Is it a progesterone thingy?

Can you ask to see a specialist? My GP knows squat, so I only talk to the OB/GYN about things.

Hi huni, sorry no much advice just wanted to to say hope doc listens to u n u can get things sorted soon

xxxx:hugs:
