Cervix after delivery

So sorry that we all have to be here. My husband and I have had two 2nd trimester losses. A baby girl at 18.5 weeks 4/23/11, and twins...one girl and one boy 4/3/12 at 20 weeks one day. I have noticed that my cervix seems much lower than normal, (about 1 inch in), but it seems to be sitting back and not "in my vagina". Wondering if this is normal. Not sure what is normal for me after a delivery because I didn't check after my first loss. I am 4weeks, two days post delivery. Any advice is welcome.

That is exactly what they think it is. My OB and I both thought that was the cause after the first loss. So when we got pregnant the second time he sent me to a specialist to help manage my care. She convienced us both that it was probably not my cervix and even if it was, it was not a good idea to put a cerclage in with twins. They were willing to do it if my cervix began to shorten so they followed my cervical lengths. I was 3.1 cm at 15 and 17 weeks. When I went for my 19 week ultrasound I had already shortened to
.22 mm. It was too late to do the cerclage at that point and the only thing they could do was put me on complete bedrest which unforturnately only bought me 4 days. If we decide to try and get pregnant again and have success the cerclage will go in at 14 weeks this time.
