Hi everyone!

Is £75 too much to spend on a a changing bag, i really cant decide and ive been umming and arring over it for months and i really have to make my mind up soon...eek! I love a pink lining one and a cath kidston one and i cant find any original looking ones for any cheaper..... any thoughts, ideas, suggestions very welcome  xxx

No, but im prob not best person to ask as I have a pram and changing bag addiction lol!!!

Depends on your income hun. Would you spend £75 on a normal handbag? If so, then go for it as you won't want to take two bags out with a newborn and pram, will you?

If £75 is WAY over your limit (as it is mine) for handbags, then I am sure you can find something a little more reasonable. Have you tried Amazon? I live on there, lol!

xx

I think i could justify it more if i was to use it for more than one pregnancy ;)

The one I like is £85 but bought it off eBay brand new for £50. Shop around I say xx

i dont think its too much, it maybe be the last thing you get to buy yourself for a while so treat urself if u really love it, obviously u want it bad or u wouldnt have been looking at it for months :p, it'll get used and its definitely something you need :) x

took the words right out of my mouth... :)
definitely does all depend on income and whether £75 is something that doesn't bother you when looking to buy a handbag.

I was watching the pink lining ones on ebay, most were going for £30-50. That could bring the price down, going 2nd hand? Also do any local forums/papers have a wanted section you could advertise in?

I'm spending about the same on mine. I don't think it's too much as long as it's practical. In my case I know that I do not want the hassle of having to take a baby bag and my own purse out so I wanted a baby bag that didn't look so BABY and could pass as my purse as well. So to me it is worth the splurge for the practicality and it makes me happy and not embarrassed of the bag that I will be carrying constantly! It may be a different story if you'll be going back to work and leaving LO at daycare and leaving the bag there also. then it's not like you'll have to deal with it all day every day. But if you'll always be with LO whenever you're out of the house, having a nice baby bag you're proud of is totally reasonable!!!

Dammit. I've just been looking on Amazon for changing bags and found this one which I LOVE! I wasn't planning on spending £50 but...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Babymel-Am...sr_1_42?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1316884977&sr=1-42

My pram is black with white spots, so I can't go with too many designs, but this one should look good I hope. Now to convince the OH!! :haha:

I bought a pink lining bag and it's soooooo lush I got the bottom ofthe garden and it's worth every penny. With my first I bought the bugaboo one to match my pram but I just didn't like it as it wasn't easy to access and was bulky.

Just think when you have finished with the bag and if it's in good condition they go on eBay for a very good resale value xxx

It does depend on your budget really, is £75 a lot to you?
I only spent £15 on my one with DD which I will use with this one too. I put functionality over looks and I didn't want a really pretty one coz I wanted OH to be happy to be seen carrying it! (I hate carrying a bag at the best of times and wouldn't ever spend more than £5 or £6 on one!)

If you can afford it, I don't think it's too much. I bought a Coach diaper bag and I think it's gorgeous and am very happy with it! I did buy it from the Outlet store so it was a bit cheaper...I think I got it for 100$ or 150$?? I can't remember but it was in that range. It's a 300$ bag so I got it for a steal. I do need to get Dh his own though, as this one is Very girly, lol.

Personally, I couldn't justify it, but that doesn't mean I don't covet Pink Lining bags! xx

Have just bought a new Pink Lining one on eBay for £56 inc postage, so you could try that. Or use a cheap one or the Boots parenting club one until January when Pink Lining have their sale.

I have got a pink lining bag and it's definately worth the money in my eyes. Trendy and great quality. DH is not so keen on using it but he might have to from time to time!

I've just picked up the free boots one today and have a plan in mind for a Pink Lining one....

OH was against it due to the girly nature but now he can have the plain black boots one (which will also double up as an emergency bag for quick trips out when mine isn't packed) and I get to trawl ebay for a reasonably priced PL one ;-)

Personally, if money isn't a huge issue, i'd go for it. having had a few more expensive change bags i think they're worth every penny. they last really well, change bags seem to take a right battering!

I paid around 45 for mine but its normal retail price was 75- I got it discounted on ebay!! I think its definitely worth shopping around for the one that you like- personally I wouldn't say that £75 was 'too much' for a changing bag, bearing in mind the usage that it will get and its usefullness! What I will say though, is make sure it is a functional changing bag- I.e. big enough, enough compartments, inclusive bottle holder etc etc as you don't want to be spending £75 on one that you just find annoying after a couple of months.

xx
