My first ICSI failed, I was on the long protocol. I got 11 eggs, 7 mature, 6 fertilised, 2 were fair quality the rest were poor :( the clinic is suggesting this may be because of the protocol. I'm 25 so they expected better quality.

Therefore they're changing my protocol to the antagonist using Menopur instead of gonal F and starting on CD1 with no down reg before hand just along side of it. It should take about 14 days in total before EC.

I've gota wait until August I think but I just wanted to hear if anyone got any better results, egg and embryo quality wise as again this will be a new protocol so they don't know how I'll respond from this one either although they hope I will produce better quality eggies (that's the theory anyway!)

Did anyone else change protocol after the 1st time and did it results in better quality? I'm also hoping i won't suffer as much this time!!

mummy - I'm going to be on the same protocol in June. I've heard that the short protocol is better plus its alot shorter. I've got my fingers crossed for you this time xxxx

anyone else been on antagonist with menopur? I've read about it being good for 35+ but would like to hear some good stories of under 35's who have had this :)

I think our consultant is aiming for less eggs but better quality...
