Cheese is perfectly fine during pregnancy people! (minus these few)

I buy good quality deli meat and eat it about 4 times/week. Yum. I don't want to heat it up either b/c I like a cold deli sandwich. I'm still alive and so is my baby.

I take a relaxing bath every night...couldn't live without one.

I take a long bath at least 3x a week. Very relaxing for sore backs, boobs and feet. I couldn't live without baths for 9 months!!! I just make sure it isn't as hot as I normally would do- the only downside.

Philadelphia is fine because it is pasturized :)

ahhh thank you guys! thats such good news for me! love this site hehe

I'm scarfing it down on apple cinnamon rice cakes. Sounds gross but oh so tasty

thats sounds....different lol! hey the body (baby) wants what it wants :)

i was basically told to stay away from ANYTHING unpasturised and all nuts incase the baby has allergies. besides that i'm eating what i like!! :D

You can eat nuts hun, 100% (i work in food training industry). The medical profession used to recommend that you avoid nuts due to allergies whilst ongoing research concluded. Conclusion? Nuts/peanuts are fine. I would not have got thru the past few weeks without peanut butter LOL!!

Of course, everyone needs to do what makes tyhem feel safe - so if not eating nuts feels better, stick with it :hugs:

I know you mean well, but please think before you post.

Eating deli meat has nothing to do with whether the meat smells good or not - Listeria can live on meat that smells fine. A woman who is NOT pregnant and eats deli meat with listeria on it will more than likely be fine. A pregnant women will not.

I dont think the original poster meant any harm and ladies do their own research as to what they can / cant eat anyway. Im not eating deli meats but if its in food without me knowing then i am not going to freak out afterwards. I wont freak out because i have vast knowledge of food bacteria and food related illnesses due to my job, but others who dont know alot about food micro organisms may freak out having only heard ''DONT, DANGEROUS, LISTERIA, MISCARRIAGE' etc - so posts like this one even it out.

so I AM NOT SAYING ''go ahead and eat cold deli meat'' at ALL. what i am saying is avoid it unless hot, but if you eat in something when out DO NOT FREAK OUT.

No, she most certainly did not mean any harm, but you do know how it goes. I would hate to find out if someone ate something because they read it on a message board and something bad happened.

People can also misinterpret - it happens all the time. Best thing to do is check those FDA links I posted earlier (or the British equivalent) so there is no mistaking what's okay and what could potentially, be harmful.

Now I want to eat a bagel with schmeah (hahah) while taking a warm bubbly bath! hahaha

I miss cold ham :( I miss cold deli meats in general i love a good wholemeal rool with ham cheese *sigh*

I eat a sandwich once or twice a week I just heat up the meat before I use it. BTW, I read that all meat, even leftovers in your fridge need to be heated up until steaming to avoid the chance of listeria contact with the fetus.

I am REALLY missing my brie cheese. Had I known I couldn't eat it while pregnant, I would have eaten myself into a brie coma before TTC :nope:

Does anyone know if there is a brie cheese sold in the US that is pasteurized?

I will be asking my doctor about the brie thing on Tuesday but it is Friday and that means brie cheese on some crackers and a warm bath would be heaven on earth!

HOW did I not think of that?? My pregnant brain is failing me. I was thinking microwaved brie would be no good, lol. I have the most fabulous artichoke and baked brie recipe. YUM, YUM!

I've had it microwaved and it isn't bad. It is pretty much the same as baked, but with no crust.
