I thought I would post this as it seems to be something that is mentioned alot and I just wanted to confirm what a "chemical Pregnancy" actually is

What Is A Chemical Pregnancy?

A chemical pregnancy is the clinical term used for a very early miscarriage. In many cases, the positive pregnancy test was achieved before the woman’s period was due but a miscarrige occured before a heartbeat was able to be seen on an ultrasound.

With the ultra sensitive pregnancy tests on the market today, it is easier than ever to get a positive result 3 or 4 days before your period is due. It is wonderful for those who NEED to know, but does have it’s down side. Early testing shows chemical pregnancies which would not have been detected had the woman waited for her period to arrive.

This is the link if any one wants to read more about it https://www.babyhopes.com/articles/chemical-pregnancy.html

I had one i may it was awful :-(i would be 3 months now .

Most of the times, you miscarry when your period is due or a few days after it was due.
I had a chemical in April, lost at 4w4d. If I wasn't charting or TTC I would have thought it was a heavier period.

I had one in April and just today had my 2nd chemical pregnancy. They suck! I would still rather test early and know what my body is doing vs. not know.

Who`s that girl-Im sorry you have just had another chemical.are you going to see your dcr?

How many chemical pregnancies are normal before i need to start worrying?

Thanks for putting up this post.

I am sorry to hear that people have gone through a chemical pregnancy but, if I could be a little heartless, in the name of learning more, was there a lot of bleeding? How many days does it last? I don't meant to offend or hurt people, just trying to learn more about things (because I think I may have had one last month without realising??)
Thanks

I really think I had a chemical this month. I didnt test so I dont know for sure but I was showing LOADS of symptoms inc. sickness, feinting, pain in my uterus when I sneeze and after BD a dragging feeling in my uterus?

When my 'period' came I knew there was something up. Mine is usually very light to begin with building up to meduim. This was the heaviest I have ever known, lots of clotting (sorry if TMI) and pain so bad that i was curled up in a ball on the sofa crying all night, even after 4 paracetamol, 2 aspirin and some codene... all I know is it was all totally wrong for me.

Hope i could be of some help  xx

Anyone know what the causes of "chemicals" (which my specialist says are still considered "pregnancy" and he does not use the word "chemical" as it makes light of the fact it was really a miscarriage). I am just wondering if it is usually an implantation thingy or just random??? Anyone know?

from the internet I gather its either that the egg didnt implant properly or something went wrong when the egg starts to divide and if the pregnancy would have continued it would have caused massive deformity's xx

I had one this cycle. I had a positive on a superdrug at 3w ish and then the line started to disappear after 12 hours. Doctor said this was normal  I tested 2 days later and had 2 negatives. I only felt pregnant for about one day, and then normal after that!

The bleeding started off as a brown sludge (a bit like when I mc'd the 2 others) and then went to red. It wasnt heavy, painful but just seemed to go on and on. It later trundled off into brown sludge again.

During this cycle, I have also had an abundance of EWCM of which I havent had for absolutely ages - weird eh!

A very strange time - I never let myself get excited as I knew it could all go wrong. I was disappointed with myself for allowing myself to test so early.

I wont be doing that again in a hurry x

I have had 2 chemical pregnancies so far.. one right after another in May and June... It was really hard. I couldnt believe this was happening to us.. We just want our little angel... Hoping this month is good for us, we were not really trying persay... haha.. We will see at the end of the month.

I had a chemical in may i was sooo happy when i tested 5 days early before my af was due and had 3 days of bfp.Decided to test again the 4th day just to see as my boobs had stopped hurting and had a massive breakout in spots on my face which i never get and the tests were all neg :-( 2 days later i came on fairly heavy but no clots and the same sort of period pains.

We are just trying again now this cycle after a lil break but one thing iv learnt is not to test early and be prepared for loss and try and be strong.
