Chewing his tongue

Oliver has started chewing his tongue on one side. He looks like a chav eating gum!! You know when they chew it with their mouth open ewww!
I know I can't stop him doing it, short of taking it off him and not giving it back until he promises to stop doing it!
But what do you think it is? Teething on that side perhaps? Any ideas?

Hannah did this for about a week and than a tooth started popping through! She's doing it again but this time on her top gum
