child benefit - I need some help...

hi,
My child was born in Janury and till know I am waiting for chb. I m calling them every few days and they told me they have all doucments and they dont need antythinbg else. I should wait 26 weeks to get decision and now this time has passed. So I called them an lady said me she dosent know why I do not have money becouse the time for waiting is much more longer then 26 weeks. She alsko told me somebody will contact me by phone but that was last week and till now I didnt hear from them.
I m just worried about the amount they will pay me....My friend had the baby also in January and just today recied 380 pound only becouse they said the law has changes recently and they pay her just from May....
If anybody know about it....
Im just finisked my SMP and I was thinking I will recieve money from the day I put applicatipn... Is is about 800 ponud...If u can help me to resolve thata problem will be brilliant becosue Im calling them and evry time they tell me something different and asked me to wait...

Everyone gets child benefit - all you need is a child!!

I got ours through within a month or so, feel it strange that you have had to wait so long......am wondering whether it could be anything to do with you being foreign???

the maximum they can back date is 3 months although this is there mistake not yours so i dont know if that could make a differance if there is a way you could prove you sent the forms back in january then i would have thought they would have to pay you from then x
