We've got a note through that Abby is to have an child health surveillance appointment at her school. the is 5 and has just started primary 1. All the info I can find on google seems to suggest this programme is for newborn to pre-school age. Did anyone else have one of these appointments? It's maybe a Scottish thing? I don't remember having one of these before?

Joshua was weighed not long after he started Reception. We got a letter through a few days later stating what he weighed, BMI etc.

I wonder if it's the same/similar thing?

Yeah dd did too when she started had weight checked and a filled a form in for any concerns we had.

I'm in Scotland and haven't heard of this? The only check we got was a compulsory eye test. Maybe different LA's have different rules? I'm not sure..

The child health surveillance programme is simply the official name for the government monitoring of all children, including antenatal and postnatal care, vaccinations, health visitor checks and the school nurse.
