When you think back to Xmas as a kid, what are you best memories? :cloud9:
I've got loads but these are my favourite

For me its going to Bridgemere (like a gardening centre in Cheshire) with my Nan and Granddad and looking at all the decorations.
Being wide awake on Xmas eve hearing my parents getting the presents from the loft and wrapping them.
Pretending to be asleep while my mum comes in my room and puts the stocking at the end of the bed, wanting to open it but being to scared that my mum would hear me
Making decorations with my dad. He'd cut a log in half, make up some white plaster and put it on the log (like snow) then my sister and I would get to decorate them with christmasy figures (think they were just cake decorations) I can't wait to do that with my kids
And being at my Nan and Granddads house on Xmas day, cuddled up with my nan on the sofa listening to Xmas songs

xxx

Waking at 5am, it was always freezing and for some reason we always woke up, it must have been my mum going back to bed after doing our stockings or something, and me and my sister would get up and look at our stockings together thinking we were being proper stealth only to have mum or dad come in and tell us off for waking them and sending us back to bed. Then we'd get up, have breakfast and get dressed and have presents. We'd go for a walk with dad then the pub while mum made lunch and then back for lunch & crackers and then and afternoon of playing with our toys and eating chocolate :D

the living room been covered in pressies  , me and my eledest bro ripping corners of wrapped pressies in my mams wardrobe:haha: then showing my lil bro his bike :haha: ( i was only 7 )
dinner , never snowed !! , erm just the whole thing i loved every xmas with my mam n dad etc they really went out the way for us when i think bout it now , as i know now having a stepson(who lives wth me) and a toddler

That's so funny, we always woke up at 5 as well and thought we were being soooo quiet but then our mum always heard us and came and told us to go back to sleep, lol!!!! Must be something about 5am...

In Germany Christmas eve is the day were presents are unpacked.
So In the morning the christmas tree was taken inside and got its decoration , n the afternoon everybody was busy to do the last preparation for their presents and we used to go to church(the childrens church service) at about 16:00h.(protestant) After we returned from church we had to keep in our rooms for half an hour or so and then the celebrations would begin :)(unpacking and we always had the tradition that one present at a time and we would gave a present we found to the person whose name was on etc ) ) after unpacking ,the dinner (cooked by my mother) would be served (either it was something like fondue or so , or when we were smaller there was filled goose with red cabbage and dumplings or (something like that). The 1st and second christmas days were mostly for the extended family that either visited us or we came to then :)
