Ok so how are you all protecting your trees from your toddlers :haha:

Normally our living room apart from his bedroom is :haha:he one safe place we can leave him unattened to go and do something. We only have toys in here with the sofa and there is a play pen around the tv since its a big lcd and its not bolted down. But im at a loss as to what to do with the tree? I need the living room really to still be safe but also want a tree on display.

Kyle will be having his own tree to decorate upstairs how ever he wants.

You could maybe put it on something so he wont be able to get it. My tv is up on the wall, I dont have a fire, the living room is a pretty safe place for my girls but I am gonna go with the no, dont touch that although I dont think it will work but then my girls are nearly 2.

Decs second Christmas he was 14 months and I just kept repeating no dont touch and he was fine, last Christmas he was 26 months and he seemed to remember no touching, this year is the hard one he has nearly had my tree down 100 times already :(

I would try the no touching thing first, it may work if not how about just getting a little one that could be put on a shelve or something :)

Lillys been fine every year with our tree, except pulling the choccys off. my cousins used to pull at theres though and she baught two 'soldier' type christmas statues and told the kids that the soldiers were protecting the tree and it worked lol x

We have thought about putting it on the unit behind the chair but he can climb on the chair :dohh: Will problery put it up while his in bed, bring him down in the morning ad i wont point the tree out to him and keep a very close eye on him..

i put it on top of a table!

Brookes a nightmare with the tree she pulls the baubles off doesnt matter how many times you say no she just does not listen lol

I don't think we'll do anything for protect the tree (or is the toddler you're trying to protect!)
Last year she was really good and didn't mess with the tree or presents under it. If she does this year, I'll probably tell her it's not for touching, just for looking at and if she keeps messing with it, I'll give her time out so she'll know quickly that it's not for playing with.

Ours is going behind the couch in the only corner he can't get to.

i put mine up the other day and i made sure he was there when i did it, he got excited when i got put the lights on and went to touch it (i made sure my expensive breakable ornements are up high way out of his reach) and everytime he goes to grab something off it i take his hand away and say 'no we dont touch this' the first day or two he kept going to it but he hasnt bothered with it today at all really the novelty has worn off and he's more interested in the singing reindeer on the windowsil :haha:

ok so i worked out the unit i want to put the tree on i should be able to tie the tree feet to the unit YAY!! safety atlast lol

We put ours up last night & Finley hasnt really bothered with it tbh but give him time lol x

My two helped put mine up so they were bored of it by the time we'd finished :haha: the only thing I keep finding is unwrapped present decorations :dohh:
