Hi Ladies!!

I'm new to the boards and have been TTC for three cycles now. This is my first month using OPK's and I'm a little confused.

I'm currently on CD11. This morning at work I noticed that I had what looked like EWCM. So I got excited and went home on my lunch to test with ClearBlue OPK. I had been drinking a ton of water had also had a cup of coffee and had pee'd about an hour before, so my urine was really deluded. My OPK came back negative. So I went back to work and didn't drink anymore water and only pee'd once at 2pm. I got home and tested again at 5:30pm and for a full positive on the OPK. I was expecting a flashing smiley, not a solid smiley. It seems too early for that?? Anyways, I can't tell which is the control line on the strip and which is the test line? I know the box says not to pay attention to the lines but they've got to mean something... The one line is really light so I guess I'm just doubting that this is a for real positive result?

Any insight???

Thanks so much!!

the advances look at both estrogen and LH, estrogen increased as you are getting ready for the LH surge giving you the flashy smiley and your light line on there is the LH. So you can't compare the lines they aren't like the normal ones that have a control line.

However if you used diluted urine then not the next time the monitor would show a huge difference in LH hormone and could give you a peak before your actual peak time. But yours looks like mine does during a peak so I say go for it!!! and just continue to bed for a few days :)

Good luck!!
