Hi, my period was due yesterday but didn't arrive, so today I used a Clearblue test (non digital). When I took it out of the packet I noticed that there was already a visible horizontal blue line in the test window, is that usual? I took the test and its negative. Very frustrating as I'm usually like clockwork. The test is within date (doesn't expire until 2014).

Clutching at straws I guess...

The horizontal lines are always there.. Last time I used one, it was a plastic piece behind the window (which of course I only knew because I pried the test apart). So that's normal, it doesn't make the test faulty, it's how clear blue produces the "plus/minus"

Yep I used that test too - it's the other line to make the + you need to look for. Good luck!
