Clomid and alcohol??

FIrst off, no judgements please! I have pretty much quit drinking but occasionally do indulge as i have been ttc for 13 months now. I am just starting clomid and was wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to drink while taking clomid. I would never drink once i know i ovulated becaue of the chance i could be pregnant but just wondering if i drink before then if it would effect the medication and its effectiveness. My sisters wedding is the right smack in the middle of my next clomid cycle and would love to have some wine !! anyone know any facts about this or information from previous experience?

Hey no judgement from me - hopefully you won't be drinking for the next 9 months so you have to prepare!

I personally don't know the answer to that although i did look before and there was nothing on my instructions about alcohol. If it were me I would get a bit tipsy but not go silly, just in case. xxx

hi i always wondered this too... i started clomid last oct & with the stress of being on that & knowing i only have 1 ovary with polycysts & 1 tube & lttc i really wanted to let my hair down & have a good night out with friends, kinda felt ttc was starting to take over our lives xmas & new year was very hard not drinking....but my fs said that i would only be given 6mths of clomid & then as we have a 4 year old daughter the only other option was iui, privately! which is thousands of pounds i was booked in for a lap & dye on 3rd feb & had said to all my friends if i didnt get a bfp that mth then i was def going out & getting wrecked lol! well sooo pleased to say i got my bfp on the 20th feb! & its twins! am now 19 weeks pregnant so i really do think the no alcohol did pay off.


i dont think alcohol would hurt while on clomid, but i just didnt want to take the risk & maybe missing a bfp xx

thanks ladies. yeah i am not drinking at all now. on cd 12 and plan on no alcohol until after i get my af! or maybe a bfp and then i will not be drinking for 9 more months!!

well i havent drank for years and still no joy off getin p so i started drinkin againe only drink on weekends well got my bfp last month but ended in chemical p so i hope i get a sicky on this month xxxxx
