clomid and hcg trigger on first cycle

I have PCOS and have been trying to conceive for 6 months naturally. I have been on metformin for 2 months. I'm on cd 2 after a round of provera. I will be taking clomid for the first time on days 3-7. I will be going in on day 12 so they can see how many follicles are matured he then wants to give me a hcg trigger shot to boost ovulation. is this normal to do on the first try of clomid?? Will this up my chance for multiples? i know the clomid has it chance but will the shot add to that?

I have suspected pcos and I'm on my second cycle of clomid. I've never been offered the trigger shot, but I would gladly do anything to get me pregnant.

Yes it's normal to do it the first cycle and it does increase your chances of multiples. If you have any concerns you should contact your doctor. Good luck and baby dust to you.

Thank you! Im excited he's going to offer it because i would do anything as well!! wouldnt mind twins but dont know about triplets! but he said we will discuss that at the visit!! you should ask about it! do you ovulate on the clomid?

I haven't ovulated on clomid yet and have not heard of an hcg shot. i haven't even been offered a scan to check follicles or anything....but i'm going on 150mg of clomid for 10days (yes 3 tablets a day for 10 days straight) as the doc thinks it will work for me.

I just finished taking provera so I was wondering how long did it take for AF to come on after you finished taking it? I will start clomid on CD 5-9 once AF come on. Good luck

It usually makes you have a period within 3-7 days. but for some crazy reason it took me 18 days to have one. i dont know why i did read it just takes some people longer!! good luck and keep us posted.
