Hi!!

We have been TTC for about 20 months (DH and I are both 30.5)... we started TTC on my 29th birthday.... it's been a long 2 years! We both had all of the normal test done... sperm is fine, hormone levels are fine, I get a + ovulation test about 80% of the months trying, no tube blockage per HSG, etc. I did temp. charting for 4 month and dr. said my ovulation appears very normal and strong. The only problem (which I don't know if it really is a problem and dr. said I'm probably fine) is I'm SLIGHTLY underweight... I'm 5'6 and 112 lbs. (when we started TTC I was at 107) But I have read that weight can affect the quality of the egg... hence the 5 lb. weight gain!

Anyways, this cycle is my first month of doing Clomid 50 mg. days 5-9. I asked my doctor if there was any benefit to doing Clomid with normal cycles and she said it can make you super ovulate and produce better quality eggs. Has anyone else had success on Clomid who (a) ovulates normally w/o Rx and (b) was having "unexplained fertility"??

Thanks in advance!

This is my first month on Clomid even though i cycle normally and O on my own. My problem is that it is a weak O (only 1 positive day of OPK and a faint line at that). I am about to O any day now after 2 days in a row of positive OPK and I have noticed a big difference thanks to Clomid. FX that it does the trick for both of us!

I ovulate on my own as well. Starting Clomid today cd4 till cd8. What your doctor told you is what my doctor told me. Just helps quality of the egg.. since I have high FSH and not many eggs left and unsure if the eggs I do have left are good ones. Also, may drop more than one egg so gives you a better chance. Hope Clomid does the trick for us!!!

I would try to gain more weight if I were in your shoes. Fat cells store estrogen. Without enough of them in your body you can conceive, but not support a fetus for the duration of a pregnancy.

Taking clomid may help you ovulate multiple follicles at a time, but it's not going to get you anywhere if your weight/estrogen levels are what's causing your infertility.

If it were me, I'd work on upping an 18.1 bmi in healthy ways before taking clomid!

Clomid earlier is more likely to produce more eggs, clomid later is more likely to produce less eggs, but of a more mature quality.

Italiandiva71 my story isnt that different to yours :hi: My DH and are 29 and roughly been trying to conceive for the same amount of time and you and you DH. We did all the test and they came back great except for my amh which came back highwhich indicated pcos although I have no symptoms at all. My fertility specialist have put my on clomid although I do ovulate on my own, she said it would shorten and regulate my cycles which could be 35days+ at times. While on the clomid though I am being monitored and having my bloods taken all the time to check to make sure my hormone levels are wherethey should be. This cycle (2nd) the clomid worked a treat producing 2 large follicles just waiting for ovulation. Now just waiting for the :witch: to arrive or not :happydance: Fingers crossed. Baby dust to you xx

Hi we are in the same boat we have been trying to conceive for 21months now and we have been given clomid but I ovulate on my own we've had lots of tests and all came back clear! We are on our 2nd cycle this month and due blood progesterone tests today an then it's wait and see and big fingers crossed! Anyone else got any news? Good luck to all x x

We have been TTC for 1 1/2 (DH and I are both 24)... we started TTC on Aug of 2012 it's been a long journey. We both had all of the normal test done... sperm is fine, hormone levels are fine, trying, no tube blockage and I ovulate monthly, cycles are normal on, everything appears to be "normal"

Anyways, this is my 2nd cycle of doing Clomid 50 mg, days 3-7.
My doctor said that it can make sure you ovulate and produce better quality eggs.

first month of clomid was 25mg days 3-7
currently starting cycle 2 as of today (50 mg - days 3-7)
