clomid is confusing.

4 years + ttc.
So beginning of the year doctor puts me on Clomid.
First cycle I ovulated cd 17.
Second cycle ovulated cd 16.
Third cycle ovulated cd 18.

Hubbies semen analysis says it rests on the borderline of normal.

As it is though we are ttc when we aren't able to be together all the time. I am in one place studying... He is in another place working, with both those places being several hours apart. Which financially is difficult to pull off being tigether daily as fuel costs are pretty bad and its half a tank of fuel each way.
So we try to schedule in the major BD for when I'm due to ovulate but even on the Clomid I'm not ovulating at a set time. Isn't that the point of the Clomid?? Should I be phoning the specialist and asking her about it?

Hi Moondance,

For what it's worth, I'm not ovulating on the same day every cycle, either, with Clomid. I think it does help you get within a range of 2-3 days, which is what is considered "normal." But, it never hurts to call your specialist with questions, and maybe there is some other way that you can tighten up that window so your ovulation occurs more regularly.

I think if you want to really be able to time it you need to trigger your ovulation with ovidrel or something similar (I use ovidrel but I think there are others maybe). Clomid will make you ovulate but not necessarily on a certain day.

Still confused.... i mean... i was already ovulating on my own. But my cycles were varying hugely so ovulation could never be pegged. I thought the point of Clomid was to ensure i ovulated at a given time a set amount of days after i started taking it.
Is Ovridel a prescription drug?
