Clomid monitored cycle?

Hi

Can anyone tell me what they actually look for when they do an ultrasound on a Clomid cycle? What are the options of things they can do if they find that things arent how they should be?

The ultrasounds are done to see follicle development through the cycle. My scans were done on cd 3 and then scheduled for cd 10 through cd 17 as they watch the follicle develop. Then they will scan to confirm ovulation.

Not sure what they do if they aren't seeing anything developing. Luckily in my two months of the cycle monitoring they saw follicles developing.

I only ended up having the first early scan (CD3) to check to see how many follicles I started off with... both my mid-cycle scans were can canceled (one due to illness and another since I ovulated early).... so I never got to see how many eggs actually matured. But that is what they would look for mid-cycle, to verify the Clomid worked and you have enough mature follicles.

If, for some reason, the amount of Clomid your currently on is not working as well as they'd like, then they would up the dose next cycle. Unless, like me, you started off at a higher dose anyway. Due to my FSH levels I started at 100mg... so they may not up the dose at that point. I was told injectables would be my next option.

Are you doing a natural cycle on Clomid then? No IUI? If so- then IUI may be the next step you would take. It certainly helps get the best of the best swimmers up where they need to be

I started on 100mg and not sure hes keen on me going up to 150, so maybe injectables, hope not as I bet its a lot more expensive.

I havent had my tubes checked yet so I think theyd probably do that before they do anything else, will wait and see I suppose.
