hi

question about clomid. I know that its prescribed when you have irragular periods and dont ovulate etc............but if you appear to ovualate and your cycles seem ok...............then do they give it to you (im 38 in JUne) so i need anything to increase my odds!!! Im going to go to the doc for referal to get tests etc just in case!! do people get clomid if there cycles are normalish? does it increase the chances of getting preggie
thanks

I've only heard of it for women who aren't ovulating properly. But I could be wrong.

I peeked at your FF chart... are you sure you are, in fact, ovulating? Do you have more than one chart? That one has several open circles, so I am guessing your temps are not very consistent (time wise). And the temp shift appears like it might be minimal (though temps charted in C will have a less dramatic shift).

Positive opks do not necessarily mean you are ovulating. Have you had bloods done (like a 7dpo or cd21 progesterone test)?

hi

i have only just starting charting but have been trying prevoiusly to charting..........Im not sure maybe im not ovulating.i do get the EW stuff..i havnt had any testing done yet which is why i thought i would go to docotr.............yes my temps are inconsistent as i began school holidays (im a teacher) and therefore was sleeping in and forgeting to take temperature at consistent times...........im back at work for the next cycle so it will be consistent...im a bit worried now..............

what does everyone else think looking at my chart?

I ovulate and have been prescribed clomid.

I've been trying for 20 months, so with a FS who said it would release more than 1 egg at a time which increases your chances of conceiving.

I'm on my second cycle so really hoping for a BFP this time!!

Good luck hun xx

hi
i was prescribed clomid and i ovulate every month i think sometimes they prescribe you what they want to stop you nagging (well in my case anyway) good luck getting your :bfp: x x

I wouldn't worry about your chart too much if that was your first month! It takes a couple of months to get a good read on what your cycles are doing. Now that you are taking your temp at a consistent time, your next chart should look great.

Personally, before I jumped into meds (and risked having multiples and complicated pg) I would ask for bloods to see if you are ovulating well. They can do several tests, but the most common one is to test your progesterone 7dpo.

What is your normal cycle length? You might not have caught yet just because you are missing the egg (it only survives about 24 hours and you are only "fertile" for about 4-5 days as that is as long as sperm can survive).

Charting will tell you both when you ovulate and how long your LP is, both are very useful information and you might be surprised how fast you catch as soon as you figure those things out!!

Good luck!!

thanks everyone.............yeah i guess my next chart will look better.in the mean time of to the doctor i go!!! my cycles appear to be around 29-32 days......Im glad that clomid increases the eggs so that is great...........i have a fantastic GP so im sure she will be great at getting me tests and onto clomid..............i hope you all get your prayers answered soon with a little baby on the way..

i got it prescibed ad i had about 4 very irregular cycles.. i brought my last chart with me to my gyno and he prescribed me clomid right then and there..

ive heard of it being prescribed to people who have been trying for a very long time without succes.. but it does have some risks involved..

Luckily first round worked it's magic for me :)
