Thinking ahead and was wondering if the co sleeping cots or nests are good? How long do they last and are there any you can recommend?

Thanks :flower:

I have the Chicco next2me. It's easy to attach and it's been useful for her reflux as you can raise one end. The side zips up so I can use it as a normal crib if I'm not there. It should last until she's 6 months and starts sitting up but we will also use it instead of a bed guard for any co sleeping after that, I think she'll be too long to actually sleep in it but it will stop her falling out of bed if she's next to me.

It's also handy if you go away as it flat packs and has a carry bag. We took it with us on holiday when she was 8 weeks.

Yes, they are great. We didn't use one of the special co-sleeping ones because they are pretty small and don't last long (and they're pretty expensive to not last that long). All my friends' babies outgrew them by 3 months. We got an IKEA cot and took the side off and attached to our bed. It was by far the more affordable option and it would have lasted pretty much forever if we'd wanted to keep using it. Our daughter is 2 now and by probably a year she slept in a big family bed with us, but she would probably still fit in it if we had wanted to keep using it.

We have the Chicco too and love it. Only drawback is that it's about 2 inches lower than our bed so really have to make sure he's far enough on the other side that he doesn't roll and get his face up against our bed. He sleeps on it really well at night, not so much through the day.

We have the Chicco as well but ds grew out of it at 4 months. Dd was smaller and would have lasted in something like that for over 6 months cos she wasn't sitting yet. But it was good for ds for reflux as another poster said, as you can raise one side of it instead of one of those angled pillows that some use.

Thanks ladies, sounds like chicco is the way to go. My DS had reflux and I hear if you have one your likely to have another refluxer so best to be prepared. I don't mind 4-6 month usage will sell on once we can't use it any more so will be glad if it helps them sleep and bonus it's good for reflux. Thanks again so glad I asked xxx
