So I'm about to take a 29 hr flight to New Zealand with my 3.5month old. I've tried to get her to sleep in her cot next to the bed but it doesn't work as of yet. I know it's completely inadvisable to sleep when exhausted, let alone jet lagged and I don't want to do it, BUT, if I cant get her to sleep in a side cot, we might have a problem of never actually getting to sleep...

So Im trying to think of ways to make it 'safer' to sleep with her if it comes to that. DH suggested rolled up towels under the sheet to make a wee barrier between me and LO, but I think that might be a hazard on it's own. I'm thinking a pool noodle under the sheet, as it's something you cant really press up to ur nostrils. We've actually been using one as a guard rail these past few weeks as the guard rail was making the mattress lift up on one side.
Please any suggestions or warnings!

Hmm, I'm regularly utterly exhausted when i go to bed but my baby absolutely will not sleep in her own bed. When she delatches after feeding i move away from her but i still feel that i am highly responsive to her.i don't think bf mums tend to go into really deep sleeps.

Im going to have not slept for about 45 hours (I dont think ill get any on the plane). Im hoping that Ill be able to get her to sleep in an arms reach for some hours at least, then maybe I'll be responsive enough. And yeah, I can wiggle right over to DH's side and leave a nice 1/2-1 meter between us :) We're going through the wonderful 17week wonder week thing atm, so I guess Im going to be used to no sleep!
