So I am almost 100% sure LeeAnne has colic! She is sooo fussy and screams non stop! It takes her about 3 hours after feeding to settle and calm down and then she will only sleep for about an hour and want to be fed again. She turns bright red in the face, brings her legs up to her chest in discomfort and shes totally inconsolable!
We have a doctors appt on Monday so hopefully he can help us out! She maybe only gets about 4 hours of sleep a night and maybe another 3-4 during the day! I feed her upright and have tried all the different colic holding positions..I don't know how you ladies survive because I'm about dead LOL

awww... hun... I am sorry, colic SUCKS! She will grow out of it, and other then gripe water and colic positions etc thats all you can really do.

Have you changed her formula?

Have you tried any of the colic positions or bouncing on a yoga ball while holding her?

:hugs: Just wanted to give you a hug as unfortunately I have no advice to offer other than what ryder has already mentioned. :hugs:

Well went to the hospital tonight to have her bellybutton looked at and they reassured me that she certainly does colic! We have her on Enfamil low iron formula and its already working, shes pooping WAY more now and passing gas whereas before she wasn't!
The doctor at emerg told us to get Oval drops so we are going to try those to see if they work!
I can handle the screaming and crying it's the being up all night with the screaming and crying that is hard to handle!
I do have a yoga ball BUT I think it might burst if I get on it...I need to find one for plus size girls!! I found that putting her on her tummy and giving her a back massage today calmed her down a bit as she let some burps go!
The doctor tho said "its a no wonder she has colic, you're giving her a soother!" apparantly they aren't good and cause colic?!?!?

Since you;ve change formulas, your going to see a huge difference of the next couple weeks. Hang in there... I know it is so hard.

I dont recommend the ovol drops at all, they totally constipated Jasmine so I had to stop them. Soothers dont cause colic at all... lol I dont knwo where he got that?

Have you got different bottles yet?

I hope to notice a difference with the formula over the next few weeks otherwise I'm not sure what else to do!

Oh great, it seems as tho everything constipates babies these days!! It's probably best to just let her do her thing and get over the colic, lets just hope it doesnt take TO long!

Yes we got new bottles, we got the playtex ventair advanced ones that are apparantly good for babies with colic and such. Although she STILL guzzles and gulps like MAD! I've tried everything too. I take the bottle away after every 1/2-1oz and make sure to attempt to burp but the minute I take the bottle away and put her in the burping position she ends up screaming and having a fit!!

I've never done the burp after a couple oz... I let her drink and if she slows down then I take her off and burp her.

Hope she feels better soon! Most babies are only super colicky for the first couple months.

oh dear i remember the dreaded colic! trust me in a few months it will all be memories its just surviving these full on first few months...never heard of soothers causing colic??? hope it is getting better keep ya chin up sounds like you are a very attentive loving mummy x

I gave max gripe water as the oval just made his colic worst :( and just held him on my lap on his tummy and patted his bum .. hope you LO feels better soon

oh honey poor both of you :hugs: we used infacol and burped after every oz, along with mam's anti colic bottles and all was ok. never heard of soothers and colic though, maddi has always had a dummy. big :hugs: for you both x
