Coloboma

Hi Ladies,

Hope that you don't mind me joining you here.

Does anyone have a LO with a coloboma of the eye? Would you mind sharing your experience with me?

My daughter is 5 weeks old and has the characteristic pupil/iris of someone with coloboma (she has it in both eyes). We have an appointment at the hospital on 19th Jan to investigate further.

I'm terrified of the results and scared for her future...I think that she can see but i'm not sure if i'm just kidding myself.

My LO doesn't have this, but I know someone who does! It looks like a keyhole in her eye but she can still see. So it could be that your LO's sight isn't affected too much - even with both eyes. It is so stressful having to wait and see though - lots of hugs
