My 4 week old comfort feeds to go to sleep and as he is 4 Weeks old he obviously feeds a lot... He will suck to go to sleep then once asleep he will wake and want boob to go back again I have left him a little while and he just cries and gets irritated.... My dd did the same but having one child I was able to sit around all day if I wanted but having a now 2 year old its not possible...
Anyone know how I can stop this I don't mind so much in the evening or night but during the day as is hard as I have to be able to put him down

Also I'm not keen on giving him a dummy.

i am in a similar position, my 5 week old would stay on the boob constantly if i let him but not practical with a 4yo to look after too.

i'm not keen on dummies either but did try it the other day, didn't really help, he knew it wasn't me.

Expressing and filling him up from a bottle does help, but only doing it once a day because, again, it's not ideal to be pumping all the time (and it takes 2 pumps for one feed to fill him up cos my breast pump isn't the greatest).

Taking him out places seems to help a bit, when you kind of have to let him cry for a couple of minutes, he usually goes to sleep instead of feeding (should say I still feed him every couple of hours, I'm not starving him).

Will be stalking for any other suggestions xx

Growth spurt at around 6 weeks!
Get a sling!
Keep feeding!
