Hi my lo is 2 and a half weeks old and from birth he has been sick frequently after a feed. The past few days he also appears to be unsettled between feeds and has only been having half hour naps between feeds. My MW recommended the milk cartons are used for the first 4 weeks and not the milk powder because the milk in the cartons is sterile. We have switched to the cartons but this hasn't made any difference.

My HV then recommended we try using the comfort milk so I will switch to C&G comfort milk. But can you buy these in cartons or do they only supply it in the powder form? Has anyone used it and does it make a difference?

Thanks :flower:

Hi.

No they don't do any readymade comfort milks, it's a pain really but my son has been sooo much better since being on the comfort milk, hasn't stopped the sickness but he is much better. He would only nap for 20-40 minutes but now getting a few hours between feeds :).

He suffered from bad colic too so was crying all day long, docs/hv's have't been that helpful for me but read up on the comfort milk & gave it a shot, wish I found it sooner as we only swapped at 9 weeks.

Thank you :flower: How long did it take for you to notice a difference in your son? Also, i've read up about it on the C&G website and they said it's designed for babies who are constipated too. Franklin isn't constipated, his poos are runny, would the comfort milk make it even worse? X

we have been on comfort milk for 6 days now... we are seeing some difference but i read it can take a couple of weeks??

don't worry about the poo's, robert wasn't constipated either and its not made things runny. There does seem to be more poo though lol

Thanks, the website says you should see an improvement after a few days. He's actually asleep now and has been for a while, hardly slept at all yesterday and his eyes were so red. Poor thing. But more poo, oh dear, lol :dohh:

Hey,

We noticed a difference within a few days, he was very loose before comfort too, we got dirty nappies at most feeds to start with but 2 weeks on on the last two days we've only had 2 :happydance: but has gone dark green but says on the tin that this is normal.

Fingers crossed this works for your lo too

xx

My lo was very sick and windy and i put him on comfort but he got quite poorly on it after i had been using it nearly a week so i took him off it and put him on hipp organic and he has been a dream ever since :flower:

Thanks for the replies everyone :flower: lo screams in the early evening and we think he may have colic. C&G comfort milk is for babies with colic so can we add extra colic drops to each bottle at feeding time? x

We changed to C&G Comfort after 6 long colicy weeks and it made a difference straight away. I'd see how you go with the milk on it's own first, if it suits your LO then you might not have to do anything extra. Colic drops didn't work for us at all but the milk did xx

Have you looked into reflux?

Yeah i have thought about that and he has been sick a lot but since changing the milk it has been better as he still sicks but not as much. What are the other signs of colic?
