Comfy cot bed mattress? safe, snuggley sleeping?

My ds is NOT a good sleeper, but he is better (like any baby I expect) when snuggled and held. Is there anything I can do to make his cot bed more comfortable and cosy for him, but still have it safe? Anyone have a comfy cotbed mattress, or any other advice? He napped beautifully the other day on top of a flat pillow with a duvet tucked behind him. Please note I stayed with him the WHOLE TIME and I would never normally do this, but it was the only place I had for him to sleep.

Stalking! I was wondering the same. I saw a photo online where someone had used a duvet as a sheet. Not sure how safe that would be though. For the time being I just use a grobag with a thin blanket over it to keep him snug and tight.

I used to make a nest of my blankets for my little boy when he was younger, then put the sheet over it. It's a fitted sheet so it just meant the sides of his cot were slightl higher and soft but still safe
