My other half come off her pill which was microgynon back in July she finished the packet and had her period a few weeks later. Since then she had no period or discolouration in her CM up until Friday where there was a slight brown tinge and then on Saturday she spotted red and then later on that day its been very light since

We use the calculators out there to work out when is a fertile time of the month but 90 days seems an awful long time to go without a period for there not to be much of a showing from AF

Hi there beardyco! I can't speak to Microgynon specifically, but after I came off the pill, I had three doctors tell me that while ideally they like seeing regular periods after the initial withdraw bleed, often it to take up to a year for a woman's cycle to self-regulate after coming off the pill, and spotting on and off is very normal during that time. If she's getting BFNs and not having periods, I'd still definitely see about getting her hormone levels checked out and DON'T let a doctor tell you that they *can't* do anything for it or help with TTC until after a year, though, which is what one tried to tell me, especially if her periods were irregular before bcp (mine were super irregular before it). It might happen frequently, but it still isn't the way a body should work if everything was 100% normal. That said, I have a friend who had a very light bleed continuously for the first 3 months after coming off the pill and then everything settled down and she became completely regular.

Basically afaik what you describe is very common and usually nothing to really *worry* about but still points to some hormonal imbalances. Hope that helps!

So to update it's practically disappeared and not sure whether we count the red AF on Saturday as CD 1. Would you?

I'd say if there was any "flow" to it, you can try to count the first day of red bleeding as CD1, but it's worth noting that it could be simply breakthrough bleeding from coming off the pill, and there isn't any real way to know for sure unless she's had testing done or, failing that, if she has ovulation confirmed through temping, or you can try OPKs the few days leading up to and after ~CD14 (I find BBT only adds to my stress level and throws my hormones out of whack even more which isn't good for me when TTC, but BBT charting does seem to work for the majority of people and some don't find it stressful at all). You'd just have to remember that that works best if you start temping during a period and continue it through your cycle. Also that you *can* have positive OPKs but not ovulate or have a period afterward. I wish I could be more help and that there were a way you could tell for sure just by the bleeding, but unfortunately there isn't... I know how frustrating that is :-(.

Have read up about Agnus Castus and ordered a batch of 90 and will see how that goes. "AF has ceased" was her words, but there was only about one day that she had a "flow"
