Confused and in need of HELP please!!

Hi,

This is my first time on here so hi to anyone who may read this.
I just really wanted some advise as i'm feeling a bit alone in my situation as no-one else seems to understand my frustration.
Anyways i was on the contraceptive pill for 7 nearly 8 years until i stopped taking it last year in March as my husband and i decided we wanted to try for a baby.
So we've been trying for almost 1 year and nothing so far. Now i didnt expect anything to happen straight away but its getting a little frustrating recently as everyone else around me seems to be able to get pregnant no problem.
I understood it would take a while for my body to get into a normal pattern after taking the pill for so long and I go 5 weeks in between periods now. i've used quite a few ovulation tests througout the month and have done this a few times to check if anythings happenning but they've all came back negative!
I've started taking agnus castus as well as evening primrose oil and raspberry leaf tea as ive heard that these can all help with fertility/ovulation.
I just wanted some advise as to if im doing anything wrong and also is it too soon to visit the doctor to see what they suggest?
Any help would be much appreciated. xx

I would definitely recommend visiting the doctor if this is causing you anxiety because they may be able to give you some answers. Your husband should have a semen analysis to make sure everything is okay with him and you should just have some simple preliminary testing done (like bloodwork & an ultrasound during ovulation). These tests are not that expensive if you are paying out of pocket and they may shed some light on your situation or just let you know everything is fine and you just have to give it time. There is a lot more testing that can be done for the woman but I would give it at least 6 months to a year before doing further testing because it can get pricey and some of the tests cause mild cramping afterwards. You seem pretty young and time isn't an issue but I could be wrong. There are some suppliments you and your hubby can take like folic acid and fertilaid but you can ask your doctor what he recommends.

I agree I would go see the doctor maybe just for peace of mind, you can have blood tests that will tell you if you are ovulating or not and you can go from there...plus it can take up to a year to conceive after stopping the pill..
I am also taking angus castus how long have you been taking it?? as it can take up to 3 months for it to get into your system. xx
