So I got another smiley face on my OPK today....I had a positive on Thursday. Negatives Fri/Sat. What gives?

Forgot to mention, my DH is sooooooo over BD'ing every day LOL

Quite often your body will gear up to OV so will give all the signs and hormones but for any number of reasons will at the last moment just not OV, if this happens your body will naturaly try again a few days later.
Its more commen then people realise.
There is another reason as well but its not as common, its possible to release a egg then release another one a few days later and both sometimes become fertalised leading to fraternity twins (none identical twins) technicaly they arnt realy twins and are little more then any other siblings just happens to be at the same time (they can even be fertalised by 2 different fathers)

Well hoping to BD tonight and tomorrow just to try for this month....it's a little frustrating though and then that means I would have a terribly short LP, since I am now on CD 21 of a 31 day cycle, that would be like only 9 or 10 days for an LP. Gosh I am confused and worried now.

Your LP may not be that short, you may have just ovulate a bit later this cycle. I wouldn't worry about that yet :flower: Hope you get your BFP!! xx

Your luteal phase never changes. If you ovulated on CD21 then you probably won't have a 31 day cycle. It will be longer than 31 days. For example, if you usually ovulate on CD14 and have a 14 day luteal phase, but ovulate on CD16 one month, your period will come on CD30 instead of CD28. If on another cycle you ovulate on CD10, you will get your period on CD24. The first half of your cycle fluctuates, but the second half of your cycle always stays the same.

As for your original question, I'm not sure. I have read that women can get LH surges after they ovulate which is why they can get positive tests. Or like someone else was saying, your body could have tried to ovulate. I think charting your BBT is a good idea if you are able to do it.

I will probably have to start charting next cycle. And now I'm worried about having an even longer cycle, 31 days seems too long already......totally bummed :(

31 days is normal :) I have a 30-31 day cycle too thanks to soy. I have a 14 day LP and tend to ovulate on CD16-18. It's better than like 62 day cycle  xx

I think you mean fraternal twins, and yes they are technically twins, just not identical! I am a fraternal twin, and it is true that they don't look anymore alike than other siblings (me and my sis actually look a lot alike anyway), but they are still twins!

It won't be longer by much, and it's completely normal :)
