Confused now - I was told seeing 3 lines means girl on scan?

I was told at my scan that because there were 3 lines / 3 dots seen on my babies potty shot that it ment the baby was 100% a girl. I paid for this scan and it was done at 16 weeks. I then had a NHS scan at 20 weeks and was told girl but couldn't see 3 lines, it was just flat between their legs? However, having just read that someone on here has seen 3 lines on their baby BOYS scan I am now confused. So did what the sonographer tell me about seeing 3 lines means she was wrong then?

When I had my US done she told me that 3 lines means it's a girl because the lines come together to form her lady parts (Y shape), but I'm only going by what my tech said, so I'm not entirely sure myself

3 lines is usually a girl

3 lines usually means a girl. If they arent sure about the sex then they would normally tell you that they arent to sure xx

If its a girl it usually looks like a little burger in a bun! I had 3 girls and they all had the little burger bun, not sure about a boy though.

Try having a google of girl scan photos hun and see what you think.

My sonographer showed me the 3 lines and said it was a girl.

My scan also has some kind of 3 lines, but you can defiantly see its a boy.

If you have had 2 different people say girl im sure it will be correct, however I had a private scan at 18 weeks an NHS scan at 20 and 22 weeks and I'm still worried somedays that all 3 of them have got it wrong so I know how the measures of doubt go through your mind.

If they have been wrong in mycase and it's a boy best hope he likes pink and dresses.

Hey honey, i had both a gender scan with my daughter and a gender scan with this pregnancy (a little boy) and with having both i can definately say if it was a boy you WOULD CERTAINLY know!! haha! with my daughter there is nothing between the legs, i didnt see the 3 lines although was told to look for a 'hamburger' but there was nothing there was kinda just flat, whereas with this little man there was no doubt what so ever it was a boy... i was told to look for a 'lightbulb' and boy.... is it obvious!! haha! plus with having 2 saying girl i would say they are pretty much correct! you will see a lightbulb shape if its boy, if thats not there then i would definately say girl! xxx

I had 3 very clear lines and was told girl. I have another scan tomorrow so I'll have them peek between her legs again just to double check.

You can still see the lines with a boy BUT you will definetely see more there if it's a boy

Ours had the three lines at 17+ weeks! And, we've had a number of scans since then (low-lying placenta), and I think at this point we would have seen little man parts!
