Well as some of u know according to IVF wales policy im underage for any treatment (22) and they wont allow me a lap and dye test on the NHS as im too young, im having irregular periods and passing large clots often and i haven't ovulated since January this year, even though i have lost half stone since jan, I have asked to be reffered to a gyne by my GP but he refused due to me being overweight. Im trying to find out how much it woul cost to have a lap and dye test at my IVF clinic but i have been ringing for days now and its either engaged or just rings forever! they are a nightmare to get hold of. Anyone know how much it costs? a friend said she paid £100 for all her testing including a lap and dye, but that was a different hopsital.

Thanks :flower:

Have you tried looking on the hospital website? My local private hospitals advertise their price lists but tbh they vary greatly.

I know it's a pain in the arse but have you thought about something like Lighter Life or Cambridge diet? I lost a stone in a fortnight and my colleague lost 4 stone in 3 months (she went from an 18 to a 10 and she's in her 50's as well!!). It's not much fun but I am guessing it's more fun than not being pregnant! I did Cambridge for a fortnight before my FS appointment to get my BMI down - if I hadn't I wouldn't have got the Clomid. It does work and it's another option for you :hugs:

is it ivf wales you are trying to contact?
Their website says

"Ultrasound scan with Hysterosalpingogram contrast sonography (HyCoSy – tubal assessment) £208"

So maybe a Lap and Dye would be somewhere around that?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but my laparoscopy came to just under £3000 once the anaesthetist's costs were added on. Obviously some places might be cheaper. Surely you are needing a laparoscopy on more than just fertility grounds. I would be considering asking your doctor again but perhaps not mentioning ttc. Have they done blood tests etc? That would be a good place to start.

I have had all the regular testing done for ttc after a year of trying and again after 2 years and all last year they just kept repeating them and checking this and that, they never explain anything to us and treat us like children, we are in our 4th year end of this yearn of ttc and all they keep saying is we are too young, i have lost half a stone but my dr is baffled as to why i cant lose more than half a stone it just stops there, im even on tablets for it now and regular exercise, my dr has told me its not a diet its the exercise i need which is more important as the tablets will do the dieting side of things for me. But its just really annoying i got refused today for a lap and dye even if i went private! no one wants to help.

Thanks for the replies xxx

honest hun I have the same issues with weight loss (grrr pcos....) low GI, WW, SW - none of it works after the first stone. but I lose feck loads on Cambridge diet - worth looking at anyway?
