Constriction Therapy

Anyone with any experience of this? my daughters just started and incase its known as other things, for three hours a day they are binding her 'better' leg to stop her from being able to bend at the knee so she has to use her left. I know it will help her in the long run, but it just seems like torture to me :/
They wont let us help her up when she falls (which is pretty much every step) and shes crying and begging me to take it off.
I feel so evil and cruel.
Any advice on how to get through this?
