I had my consultant appointment today baring mind I am only 15 weeks... I was sure to be walking in and asking for a planned section however my consultant said I seemed very undecided and to come back at my 20 week scan to make a final decision...

After reading all about it, I think I am going to decide with a VBAC, I would love to be able to experience a natural birth but I am petrified with the outcome!!

Anyone else feel the same?

That was me . I was so petrified and had no birth plan at all. I went into labor at 37w5d and still didn't know what I wanted . Labored really well and ended up with a successful vbac with very supportive nurses and doctors who were closely monitoring me :) good luck!

Aaaah thank you!! :hugs:

That has actually put a smile on my face. It's nice to hear about good experiences. All you ever focus on is the negatives really.

I am very determined for my VBAC and I've had to fight for it quite a bit honestly. I think it'd be life changing to be able to experience a regular birth. :D

I had a successful vbac 9 months ago. As soon as I has my emcs in 2010 I knew I wanted a vbac. So glad I didq

I'm in the same boat Hun. Although by the time I was pregnant again I knew I wanted a vbac but am still quite scared! Every now and again I keep thinking my changing my mind but I told my consultant that's what I intend to go for. I know that this will pretty much be my only chance as I know in the UK they aren't so keen on vba2c (if we have another baby after this one of course!).
I was induced with my first and got to final stages, fully dilated and pushing for an hour so consultant says that's a good sign. But I am refusing to be induced this time and consultant agreed and added that it's best if I'm not allowed to go too long in labour so if I'm not progressing I will be taken for an EMCS, and I will also have a c section planned for around 41+5 so if I've not gone into labour naturally by then it won't be induced.

But whilst I'm still this far away from birth I find it easier to say "yeah I want a vbac!" But I'm sure as the date gets nearer I'll become more unsure! Knowing me the baby will take it out of my hands and refuse to move from breech position or something lol!

Definitely good you got to fully dilated and pushing. Same as me. I went from 4-10cm in 2 hours as my body had already done it before!

I'm determined for vbac too but don't get to properly discuss it until 34 weeks. Am very hopeful though as I know a lot of people who had success with vbac.

There was no doubt in my mind at any point from delivering my first baby that I'd have a VBAC with my second baby. Third baby will be just the same only this time I'll be pushing the baby out myself and not having a little help from the forceps. I'm only getting on that operating table if one of us is about to die.

I honestly don't know what to choose. On one hand, I want to be done and out as fast as possible, and don't want to recover whilst trying to care for a toddler and a newborn. On the other hand, my c section was so incredibly smooth and easy, it would allow us to sort out child care for our daughter, and my absolute nightmare is to be stuck on the bed for constant monitoring, not being able to have an active labour. I suspect that's what will happen. I'm going to have a lot of questions for the consultant.

In some ways I'd be relieved if the baby was breech, take the decision away.

I say go for a VBAC! A csection carries more risk, and isn't as healthy for baby. I'm having another csection and wish I was allowed to attempt a vbac:( if you have a good doctor and nurses to support you, go for it!!!! Recovery is much better after a vaginal delivery. I had that wit my first baby.

My last pregnancy was a csec due to low lying placenta. It's getting close I am nervous yet excited and I have express my wish for a vbac. Gynae said ok but I am not allowed to go past my due date. I keep telling baby to come around 37 weeks.

People said subsequent labor are usually faster. I lost my first baby when I was 20 weeks pregnant, had an induction and give birth to end the pregnancy, i wonder if this still consider first labor?
