Contradictory advice in parenting books

Don't you find it ridiculous, all the contradictions? I've read a couple of books (I love reading so naturally downloaded some books about what to do when baby first arrives) and read stuff online, and everyone contradicts everyone. I think I'm gonna go with my own approach and if it works, publish it and make zillions and add to the contradictory advice!

No-one's approach so far has matched DH and mine's perfectly. We just tend to pick and choose and/or go with instinct.

One book we read before LO #1 arrived was really helpful on BFing but subtly anti-vaccination, so we just ignored those bits.
