Cooking dunce - Need help!!

I need to cook a meal for my mum and dad as there coming to stay at the weekend... i trouble is I'm a really bad cook!!!

Anyone suggest something thats easy but impressive???

What about a roast? You can do one in a crockpot/slow cooker and it's soooo good
